Student Visa from Nigeria to Slovenia

  • This visa is granted to a third-country national wishing to enter Slovenia for the purpose of studying.
  • Holders of this visa can participate in researches, training and internships.
  • The processing time for this visa is 15 days or lesser excluding public holidays.
  • Occasionally, a physical interview by the Consul is required.
  • A Slovenia student visa is usually valid for 90 days but if your course of study is longer than that then you can apply for a long-stay study visa.
  • Processing of a long-stay study visa can only be done from the applicant’s home country. Therefore after the initial student visa application, the individual has to travel back and apply for a long-stay study visa.
  • A recent, official and signed acceptance letter from a recognized school in Slovenia should be included in the required documents.
  • Evidence of where you will stay for the duration of your study should be presented.
  • The accommodation could be a dormitory contract signed by both the applicant and an official of the dormitory.
  • Students can also stay in a rented apartment. The individual will therefore have to submit a contract specifying the address and details about the facility and the landlord.
  • Working while holding this visa is not allowed. Although, holders of long-stay study visa permits can work for a limited number of hours per week.
  • It is possible to be fined the complete 1200 euros if you overstay your visa by even one day. This decision is solely that of the immigration officer.
  • There is no age limit for individuals who want to apply for a student visa.
  • Applicants are to present proof of their academic record and qualifications for previous degrees.
  • For minors, birth certificate, a declaration of consent from both parents or guardians and documents signed by the minor's parents are required.
  • It is advisable that you apply for your visa at least three months to 15 days before your trip.
  • If your visa is denied, money paid for visa processing will not be refunded.
