Tourist Visa from Nigeria to Netherlands
- The Netherlands tourist visa is also known as the "Type C" Schengen visa. It enables tourists to visit the Netherlands for relaxation or pleasure.
- You must have a valid passport with at least two blank pages to affix the visa.
- Two passport photographs with the following requirements are needed:
- Taken recently (not older than six months).
- 35mm x 45mm photo size taken on a white background.
- Travelers intending to visit friends and family in the Netherlands should also secure a tourist visa.
- If you have a host in the Netherlands, you are required to present a letter of invitation from your host. Your host’s home address, telephone number and other means of contact (if any) should be written in detail in the letter.
- Nigerians visiting the Netherlands on a tourist visa are not allowed to take up a program of learning while in the country.
- A letter from your employer in Nigeria stating awareness and allowance of your leave is required. Your position in the company and the length of your employment should also be stated.
- During your visa application, you are required to provide a covering letter briefly introducing yourself and explaining the true purpose and duration of your visit.
- A copy of an onward or return ticket is also important.
- Flight itinerary stating the dates, flight numbers as well as entry and exit details from the Netherlands should be provided.
- Proof of travel insurance must be provided -- a minimum of €30,000 coverage within the Netherlands and the entire Schengen area.
- During your time in the country, you are not allowed to seek public funds.
- The Netherlands tourist visa is a short-stay visa. Extending the visa beyond the 90-day validity is only possible under very strict conditions, e.g., in the case of emergencies.
- If you wish to stay longer in the country, your best decision might be to apply for a long-stay visa instead.
