Tourist Visa from Nigeria to Libya
- Nigerians traveling to Libya for tourism purposes can apply for the Libyan tourist visa.
- The Libyan tourist visa is valid for 30 days.
- Visitors travelling to Libya for touristic purposes are required to convert US$1,000, or equivalent, in freely convertible cash or debit the amount from a valid credit card upon arrival. Failure to do so will result in the traveler being refused entry.
- Foreigners visiting a resident, provided holding proof of sponsorship covering entire stay and those traveling as part of a paid tourist package are exempted from this.
- Proof of vaccination of yellow fever must be provided.
- The export of local currency is prohibited.
- Libya's economy operates on a “cash-only" basis for almost all transactions, so foreigners are advised to take enough cash.
- Within three days of arrival in Libya, visitors must register at the police station closest to where they are residing.
- When in Libya, Carry proof of citizenship and valid immigration status at all times. Make contingency emergency plans and maintain situational awareness at all times.
- You may be detained for questioning if you do not have your passport with you.
- It is illegal for foreigners to take pictures of certain buildings, especially military and government facilities.
- The importation and consumption of alcohol, pornography, and pork products are illegal in Libya.
