Visa from Kenya to Nigeria

  • Kenya citizens can get a visa upon their arrival at any international airport in Nigeria and at all land border crossings in the country.
  • This visa allows Kenyans to stay in Nigeria for a duration of 90 days.
  • Intending visitors are required to have a passport valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date of arrival in Nigeria. The passport should have at least one blank page for visa stamping.
  • Tourists who wish to stay beyond the 90-day validity should apply for an extension at the immigration department in Nigeria.
  • Travellers under the age of 18 must show travel authorization from their parents or guardians. 
  • Travellers to Nigeria must provide proof of a confirmed means of accommodation for their entire stay in Nigeria. This could be in the form of a hotel reservation or a sponsor letter from a host living in Nigeria.
  • Kenyans are required to provide proof of yellow fever vaccination.
  • Tourists are required to provide proof of enough funds to spend during their stay in the country.
  • Prospective visitors can get to Nigeria from any international airport in Kenya. There are international airports in Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa.
  • Kenya Airways, RwandAir, Emirate Airways, and Ethiopia Airways are some of the carriers that fly from Kenya to Nigeria.
  • The estimated flight time from Nairobi to Abuja, Nigeria is 6 hours, 40 minutes, 19 hours, 5 minutes from Kisumu, and from Mombasa, it is 9 hours, 40 minutes.
  • The Nigerian Naira is the official currency in Nigeria. Visitors are advised to exchange their foreign currencies at banks and other exchange outlets.
  • The official language in Nigeria is English. However, other languages like Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba and English pidgin are popular languages spoken in the country. There are about 500 indigenous languages spoken in the country.
  • About 50% of the Nigerian population are Muslims, while 40% are Christians and 10% practise indigenous religions.
