Yartabki, Katsina: Boko Haram Attacks Buhari's Home State

Reports by the News Agency of Nigeria state that a bomb explosion has decimated the Yartabki village near the Funtua LGA headquarters in Katsina state.According to the Tuesday reports, no one was injured. Aminu Sadiq, the Police PRO stated that there was no severe damage done to the mosque.

How The Explosion Happened

Aminu narrated that a suspect has been apprehended for the blast, noting that two mobile cell phones and explosive remnants were recovered on his person.

The horror of it is that the bomber was on his way to blow up a mosque when worshipers were alarmed by his black polythene bag (stashed inside the mosque). They hurried to call the police, but before the police could arrive, the bomb exploded.

Katsina is the birthplace of Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari and it is one of the few states where the Boko Haram sect has had difficulty to operate.

The last time the terrorists attacked in Daura, Katsina, was in 2013.
