Located at the Mission Hill Cemetery on Anderson Street, the tomb of Mary Slessor is clearly the most sought-after grave in the city. The church set aside the cemetery for the burial of reputable missionaries who worked for it. The tomb stands out in the quiet burial ground which overlooks the Calabar River.

The museum was established as a treasure haven for the preservation of hundreds of Ekpu Oro (ancestral spirits of Oron), wood carvings believed to be the oldest and finest wooden sculptures in Africa. Apart from the Ekpu carvings, the museum is also the home of unique skin-covered and horned head masks, the powerful Obasi Njom masquerade from upper Cross River area, old manilla currency, water spirit masquerade relics, traditional raffia and metal works, the traditional pottery and metal works.
