The city of Kaduna is beautifully decorated to grab your attention the first time. It doesn’t take a lot for you to fall in love with Kaduna. It is proudly called the ‘Crocodile City.’ This would explain the crocodile symbol you see around town. It is a major industrial center in the country that houses many factories. There are schools such as Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Ahmadu Bello University, the Nigerian Defense Academy, and Nigerian Institute for Trypanosomiasis Research to name a few of these great educational institutions.

Suya is a popular meat in Nigeria. This spicy meat kebab is tastily prepared over a charcoal grill here. Sometimes, it is placed between bread to make it mouth-watering. We have listed some places you may want to see when you are visiting the Crocodile City.

The Ancient Nok Settlement

The Nok Settlement was built to blow your mind within a rock shelter where you would see granaries remains. There are dozens of pictures of the terracotta figurine on the internet, but if you want to see the real Nok terracotta, you just have to come here.

The Kagoro Hill

A lot of stories have been told of this hill. It is naturally designed for you to relax and have a picnic. There are numerous facilities here including clinics and schools. You can come here with your family or friends. If you are here alone, it is a nice place for quiet moments and meditation.

The Kamuku National Park

You would see various tree species here. It is an important place to visit because it is a block of the Sudanese/Guinea Savanna region – one of the remaining in all of Africa. This is a rare park you would definitely love.

Kaduna National Museum and Monument

Have you seen ethnographic and archaeological artifacts in their finest collections? If you’d like to, you should visit the Kaduna National Museum and Monument. Even the Nok terracotta we once spoke of is here too, as well as some artifacts and pictures from the past. There is a lot to learn here.

Kaduna has too many places to name in this article. If you love golf, the Kaduna Crocodile Club and Ahmadu Yakubu Polo Club are for you. Zaria is not far from Kaduna where you can see the ancient Amina Wall. Fura da nono is a healthy drink that you should taste if you haven’t before. Be warned though – it is addictive.
