Coming to Ebonyi State can be  an interesting experience for a lot of visitors. It is one of the last states that was created in Nigeria, which is still struggling with development. It may not be as renown as Enugu State but it sure has its own perks that will make your visit worth the while. This is one State where one need not worry about the traffic or a crowd during vacation season. We have listed some of the tourist attractions that you may want to check out when you visit the State.

The Abakaliki Green Lake

The Abakaliki Green Lake can be found inside the Ebonyi State Government House. This was once a haven for the Colonial Masters who could not get enough of the beauty here.  You will also find numerous huts in here where you can relax. If you’re an artist or a writer, you will very likely fall in love with the view from these huts. It tends to evoke inspirations and creativity.

The Abakaliki Golf Course

Can you play golf? The Abakaliki Golf Course is standard and well kept. You can learn how to be a professional golfer here and, if you do not want to play, you can watch people golf. Friends are quickly made here which is the more reasons we see some important figures in the country here during the weekends.

The Amusement Park

If you came with your kids to Ebonyi State, they would love this amusement park.  Even adults would appreciate what the government has done here to help everyone feel relaxed in a peaceful atmosphere of fun and play. During the weekends, we see a lot of families bring their kids here to help them unwind.

Okposi Salt Lake

The Okposi Salt Lake is an important place to visit in Ebonyi State. You will get to see a lot of women who have made a thriving business from salt trading. A visit here would enlighten you on how the salt you take at home eventually is processed.

Abakaliki Greater Rice Husks

The sense of industry and craftsmanship here is amazing. You’ll get to see  rice husks piled into huge heaps, like sand dunes in a desert. The rice mill industry located here serves as the source of the local rice delivered to most Nigerian homes. The rice husks have become sort of landmark for the people of Ebonyi State.
