It is barely a week into the new year and [nearly]everyone has started work on their bucket list for 2016 (besides working actual jobs, that is). Usually, the lists are cut down into things to do and places to visit, respectively.

As if on cue, Hotels.ng started off a #ThisYearIMustVisit trend on its twitter handle recently asking for people to tweet, using the hash tag, the places they have put on their bucket-list for 2016 that they must visit. Various responses have been pouring in since, as people have tweeted responses ranging from places like Zanzibar to Paris.

Naturally, not everyone would have consciously decided on a place they should visit or have any such bucket-list to begin with. Well, I'm starting off a series of posts for those who need suggestions to sort of nudge them to decide where to go. This post is about the remarkable Puzzling World, New Zealand.

Leaning Tower

Puzzling World is among the weirdest places to visit. It was built in 1973 by the well-known local skeptic, Stuart Landsborough. Out here, there is an abundance of dizzying structures -like the Leaning tower pictured above - and set ups to amaze and thrill you.

Puzzling world possesses gravity-defying structures, mind-boggling optical illusions, and even a $100,000 Psychic Challenge, where all a potential winner needs to do is use their powers to locate a specific item located somewhere in Puzzling World's environs. No one has yet to claim the prize money.

gravity - puzzling world

Puzzling World originally started out as a single level maze but now features a large maze in which the tourist or guest must reach four corner towers before finding the middle courtyard (emergency doors are included for those who struggle).

Perhaps the most mind boggling of all the amazing things on display is the leaning tower of Wanaka - a tower that seems balanced on one corner at an impossible angle of 53 degrees to the ground.

So, there you have it. Going on a trip this summer or planning a family vacation? Puzzling place is a huge tourism magnet as people throng there to revel in the aura of the place. You could give it a thought - as if one needs a reason to visit New Zealand, by the way.
