Over the years, Igodmingodo was once on the map of the world until it was called the Benin Kingdom. The Bini tribe has stamped its feet firmly in the making of a country called Nigeria. It is said that the Bini people are the most artistic and popular people in Nigeria who established a powerful Benin Kingdom. What is it that makes this people thick and influential?

*The Palace *

The palace of the Oba of Benin is a must visit place in Benin. It houses some of the greatest pieces of arts that Nigeria got. We have seen a lot of palaces but this one is different. You would love it and have a lot of things to learn here. Little wonder, it has become a tourist haven and most people would not want to leave Benin without visiting it. The stories of the ancient heroes are all dotted around the palace in pictures, artifacts and monuments.

Cultural Dance

The way the people display their dancing skills is magnificent. There is nowhere in the world where you find this people displaying their dance steps that you would not recognize them. They are unique and exceptionally great in showcasing their culture to the world.

The Oba

The Oba of Benin is a very powerful king in Nigeria. You cannot talk about dynasty without talking about the kingship and stool. The King of Oba is a force in Nigeria who is the traditional ruler of the Eweka dynasty that is legendary. He is regarded as the number one man who stands between the gods and man in the kingdom. His words are powerful and his decisions are believe to be finally. This may be the modern world but he still performs some ancient practices that would amaze you.

The Coral Beads

Beautiful and stunning coral beads are the trade mark of the Bini Kingdom. This is the only place you can find these expensive beads that anyone can covet for. The Ekan and Ivie coral beads are crafted here. They are polished to become jewelries that show off pomp and luxury.

The Brass Casting

There is no doubt that the Bini Kingdom has made its name in brass casting. The Bini art ranges from Ebony wood, terracotta, brass, bronze and ivory. The bronze of this people depicts a show of different things that you can identify with.

We know that no tribe in Nigeria has the same type of attires. For the Bini Kingdom, their mode of dressing is epitomized in the type of clothes that they make use of.
