Places In Nigeria You Can Visit Over The Weekend

Weekends shouldn’t be boring in Nigeria because there are so many places you can be besides your locality. One good thing about Nigeria is that you can easily move from one state to another. All it takes is a few hours on a Friday evening, and you can be back in no time by Sunday evening.  You don’t have to spend a lot of money in any of these places to have fun. All you need is few clothes, some cash, and you are off to these places.

Olumo Rock

Abeokuta is a quiet town where you can spend your weekend. If you are arriving on a Friday evening, you can book a hotel to rest. For the rest of the weekend, you can make your way to Olumo Rock. There are also caves in the rock you can explore before heading back to the town for other activities.

Jos Wildlife Park

A quick drive to Jos can make your weekend. There are activities waiting for you when you are in this city, and one of them is Jos Wildlife Park. Here, you will see buffalos, hippos, pigmy horses, lions, pythons, crocodiles, birds and lots more. Kids are going to love the park because of its play grounds, video viewing center, wildlife museum, and restaurants.

Oguta Lake Holiday Complex

Groups enjoy coming here over the weekend for much-needed breaks. With its numerous hideouts and amazing activities, Oguta Lake is a beautiful place to visit. There is a boat cruise service, a golf course, and even a mini children recreation park to spend quality time at. The Urashi River and Oguta Lake confluence are another place to visit when you are here.

Enemabia Warm Spring

Ememabia Warm Spring can calm your nerves. The natural warm water is cool for swimming, and for those who are coming with their families it is a good spot for excursion. The environment is designed in such a way that you would want to spend lots of time here. This spring is located in Benue state, which offers ample amounts of pounded yam and assorted soups.

Port Harcourt Tourist Beach

Take the next flight or even ride to Port Harcourt on a weekend and get lost in this tourist beach. There is a long stretch of sand along the banks of the beach. There is also a museum, a spot for picnicking, an open field to play football, sunbathing spots, accommodation facilities, restaurants and many more.  Port Harcourt offers you an unending list of fun on any weekend you visit.
