In a previous article we had a look at major hangout destinations in Lagos. Here we shall be looking at where the peace and quiet loving introverts can go to in Lagos to have a nice time (outside of their houses obviously, we all know how much introverts love to stay at home). The places we shall highlight here will definitely entice you out of the house and will be a place where you can meet other like-minded people to discuss shared interests with.  Without much further ado, here are some of these places:

Freedom Park

Freedom park

Formally a colonial prison, Freedom Park at Brooke Street, Lagos Island, has since been renovated into a park by the Lagos state government with a museum attached. This park now hosts movie screenings, music shows, plays and book festivals. For anyone looking for a place to meet like-minded people, experience and enjoy the arts and history with friends or alone, this is the place to be.

Terra Kulture

Terra Kulture

This is a privately owned cultural centre displaying the beauty and diversity of Nigerian art, language and culture. There are language courses in the three main Nigerian languages and exhibitions and there is a craft shop for interested participants to learn traditional crafts - available to a wide range of ages and stocked with a vast collection of African literature.

Lagos National Museum

Lagos National Museum

Located at Onikan, Lagos, this is one of the largest museums in Nigeria with the main attractions to this museum the contemporary arts displays and the great collection of archaeological and historical monuments on display here. There is another gallery dedicated to the traditional symbols of power and a large collection of crowns of dead kings from long ago. This museum was established in the year 1957. One of the biggest draws of the stadium for tourists is the bullet-riddled car late General Murtala Muhammed was assassinated in. The museum opens six days a week from 9am to 5pm (Monday- Saturday)

The Jazzhole, Lagos

Jazzhole

Located at Ikoyi, this is more than just another music store. Upon stepping into the cool interior of the building from the busy Lagos streets, one can virtually feel the stress and tensions easing off of them. From every conceivable genre of music and time frame to the vast collection of books in the store, this is a place designed to suit the sensibilities of the introvert. At the back of the Jazzhole is a small café with a sitting area where you can chat with like-minded people about shared interests while you eat or drink. In addition, this building also hosts international and local acts for listening sessions when an album drops and as the name suggests; jazz evenings for the jazz enthusiasts.
