Old Oyo National Park

The Old Oyo National Park contains the ruins of the original Oyo city which was the capital of the ancient Oyo Empire of the Yorubaland before it was destroyed in the late 18th century by Ilorin and Hausa/Fulani warriors.
The topography of the whole area covered by the park has a beautiful uniqueness as most of the Park lies in plain lowland between 330 and 508 meters above the sea level and continues with a gentle slope along the Ogun River valleys. It is rich in plant and animal resources including buffaloes, bushbuck and wide variety of birds. The Old Oyo National Park is easily accessible from southwestern and northwestern Nigeria.
