Nigeria has a lot of yummy, tasty and delicious foods that you can eat. The way some of the foods are prepared makes it possible for foreign visitors to eat without fear. Must we tell you that the aroma coming from some of the foods can make you salivate while the taste is delicious? For the first time guests, we have listed some of the foods that you should taste and the good news is that they are very affordable.

Kilishi/Suya

This is the Hausa/Fulani favourite grills. This meat kebab is prepared by men who stand out in some popular joints to prepare them. You just cannot resist these meats even if you are not from Nigeria. The first bite would keep you demanding for more. In some places, these meats are specially prepared to fit the dinner of a king.

Roasted Maize/ Coconut / African pear

You can eat more than a roasted maize when you eat it with Africa pear that is called ube in the eastern Nigeria or coconut. Even celebrities stop by the roadside to have a taste of this delicious and healthy food. It is not every season that we find this but during the corn season.

Moi Moi

There is no part of the country where you would not find Moi-Moi. It is made from beans and very delicious. Sometimes, it is spiced with fish, egg and meat including juicy bones. You can eat it with rice and other foods. Try it and you would be glad you did.

Okpa

Okpa is seen mostly in the eastern part of the country. It is a healthy meal that you would love to it. It has a different taste that would leave you wondering the food that has a similar taste like it. It is scarce in some part of the eastern Nigeria and whenever it is found, there is always a rush for it.

Boli

Roasted plantain is called boli in the western part of the country. It is an unripe plantain that can be eaten with bush meat, fish and stew. Sure, this is one meal that you cannot resist no matter how much you try. It is neatly prepared to leave you salivating.

Akara (Beans cake)

There is always a clamour for this beans cake that is called akara. It is the women who fry it by the roadside. A delicious one would keep you eating. It can be taken with oat, pap or tea.
