Anambra State has numerous tourist sites that you may want to visit. Some of these places are beautiful and attract attention while some aren’t quite as popular, even though they could make for an interesting vacation experience as well. We have listed some relatively unsung places you could choose from to have an exciting time.

Ikenga Virgin Forest

Ikenga Virgin Forest is not only thick but it has not been tampered by man, making it the only virgin rain-forest in Nigeria.  There are different species for you to see and also animals that have not been tamed by man.

Butu Lake, Omogho

Somewhere, in Anambra at an offshoot that we see at the Odo River is the Butu Lake that extends over a 10 hectare expanse of land. We see people come here for excursions and fishing all through the year.  This lake is what provides the water for irrigation of the vegetable and rice farms that are close by. Not everyone is aware of the beauty that this place holds. Now you are.

Okpu Ana Natural Spring, Ukpor

The Okpu Ana Natural Spring is located at the tiny village of Ukpor. The spring is seen gushing out from a huge boulder that is embedded in the cliff on the site. The water is acclaimed to be very pure and there is beautiful white clay at underneath the stream at the bottom of the spring.

Obu Ofo-Nri Museum

If you have not heard of the myth of Nri, then you need to come here and hear the story behind the myth dating back to the ancient days. Eze Nri of Enugwu Ukwu was the one who established this private museum. The art works and relics housed within the gallery will amaze you. You can also buy some of these art works at an affordable price.

Agulu/Nanka Erosion Site

Who said that an erosion site cannot be a tourist site? If you are considering options of places to visit while in Anambra, you shouldn’t leave out this place . You’ll be awed at what you’ll see out here.

The River Niger Bridge

Many, many of us have passed through this bridge at one time or another in our sojourn to and from Eastern Nigeria. Athough visiting the bridge just to revel and bask in the beauty and strength of the structure is rather low or nonexistent on many people’s agenda, it would be an interesting experience nonetheless.
