Say you’re in Port Harcourt, in the G.R.A. Phase II precisely, and just had a late, but lovely dinner with some friends and you’re thinking of what to do next. You are not ready to go home; it’s the end of the week after all, just looking to go have some fun. It’s probably too late to go by a friend’s house. Clubbing is a go, but the question is where? Lamborghini is where, one of the hottest new joints in town.

Located in the G.R.A. Phase II, along Professor Aborwei Street, on the ground floor of a still under construction 10-or-so story event centre, giving it that hidden feel – for only those in the know vibe. Getting there, you approach the imposing double doors; manned by two huge muscular bouncers, who search you to make sure you are not carrying any ‘contraband’ materials into the building, after which they proceed to open the doors. Stepping in, there’s a narrow hallway that leads to the eventual club.

At the end of the hallway, there is a colorful ambience inviting you to the dance floor. If you dislike clubs because of smoking, you’ll love Lamborghini; the first thing you notice is the lack of smoke, due to a smoking ban within the club, progressive too, as we all know the dangers of secondhand smoking.

Getting into the club is easy, finding a table and chairs to sit, especially on a Friday night and bearing in mind that this is one of the hottest clubs, is the hard thing. It would be wise to come early.

The club also boasts a VIP section, a somewhat elevated section of the club, cordoned off by guardrails (giving it that exclusive feel). Prompt attendance by a waiter is a given, there may be no menus but you can be sure of all the drinks you want. An on-demand DJ is always ready blasting the hottest Nigerian dance hall tracks, the mood is friendly and the floor is yours.

Blue cabs (the general name for taxis in Port Harcourt) are your best bet to get to Lamborghini if you are visiting, and there is no shortage of taxis in and around the GRA especially as Okadas are banned in the city. If you have buddies in the city, best to roll with them as they would know the town better.
