yankariOne thing about popular tourist sites is that they tend to overshadow other amazing places in that location. Take for instance, the Yankari Game in Bauchi State that has taken over the glory of that state. We did not allow this particular spot to make us forget that you have a lot of other places to visit. Have you heard about the Sumu Wildlife or the Marshall caves? These are some of the places that you may want to see the next time you make your trip to the city.

Marshall Caves

These caves are historic. It was in 1980 that P.J Marshall discovered these 59 dwelling caves that were dug into some sandstone escarpments. You would see some rock paintings and also engravings that are I straight and zig zag lines that would only require the effort of some experts to read meanings into them.

Tunga Dutse

If the Marshall Caves does not impress you then Tunga Dutse would surely impress you. The writings on this rock is more legible and covers a huge area on sandstone rock embankment that is about four metres in length and in the Dwall River. We have not been able to understand what these writings are talking about and the age of these writings are also not known.

Sumu Wildlife

Sumu Wildlife may not be exceptional like the Yankari Game Reserve but it is one thrilling place to visit in Bauchi State. This park is located in Ganjuwa Local Government. You would have a great time in this place with its design and the wildlife activities that are also involved here.

Kalban Hill

This hill is not like most hills that you would find in the state. From the flat topped hill, you would have a great view of different parts of the state. You can hike here and explore around the surroundings of this hill.

Kariyo Hill

Nothing feel so extra ordinary like having a picnic around a hill that is near the beautiful Marshal caves. Adventurous people would love this inspiring spot. We hope that people come here the more to explore the surroundings and have an exciting moment.
