How to Write Your Own Hotel Reviews

Every time you purchase a product or use a service, more often than not, it’s because someone already gave a good recommendation for that product or service. Granted that reviews and feedback may not be relevant in some cases, they are especially critical when it comes to travel and hotel stays. Because people will naturally choose a more comfortable service over another if they can help it. The choice of which airline to use or which hotel to stay at when we travel comes easily to us all when we see good reviews about them. Better yet if they come from someone we know.

How to Write Your Own Review?

hotel review pic It’s easy and quick. As soon as you check out of the hotel, you can quickly go the hotel’s page on hotels.ng and click on the reviews button (right underneath the pictures for the hotel). You’ll find a link to write your own reviews. Basically, you write about your assessment of the hotel based on your experience there. There is also a ratings system attached – you get to score the hotel along five different parameters: Cleanliness, Comfort, Service Quality, Security and Location.

What to Write About

Don’t know what to write about? You could write about virtually anything. Did you stay at the hotel to attend a conference, a wedding or any other event? Did staying at the hotel make things easier? Was there anything interesting that happened during your stay? Did you celebrate your honeymoon? Did you attend a party? Did you try out the food and the bar? Or, depending on if it’s a resort with such facilities, you went golfing or swimming. Maybe there was that staff who was really nice to you or maybe things didn’t go as you hoped. You can tell your story.

Why Reviews are Important

Beyond the fact that other subsequent guests will be factoring in written reviews for a particular hotel before making a booking, they also serve as a way for hotel owners to gauge their services through the eyes of their guests. This can only lead to more hotels paying attention to the quality of service they render and ultimately lead to better stays for subsequent guests, including you. Think of it as your own contribution in bettering the hospitality industry, one review at a time.
