Hotel Influential, Ibadan – a review

I first visited Hotel Influential, Ibadan two years ago when I attended a conference in the city and, though I  only stayed for one night, I enjoyed my stay there. I do not have any family in Ibadan so I always have to stay at a hotel anytime I visit the city. So when I was invited to speak at an Accountancy Symposium at the University of Ibadan last week, I packed my bags and booked my room – via hotels.ng of course – with anticipation bordering on excitement. I would be staying at Hotel Influential again.

Making my way to 11, Onilegogoro, Premier Hill, Mokola immediately I arrived at Ibadan was easy, many of the taxi drivers in Ibadan can locate Hotel Influential very easily. The hotel is situated on a hill not too far from Ibadan’s centre and in no time, I was walking through the driveway, with the porter pulling my bag. A smiling and courteous receptionist when you walk into the hotel. I instantly felt at home.

The rooms are Standard to Royal, but all of them have a king-size bed, television, a worktable – which came in very handy for me to prepare my lecture notes, really big and very clean ensuite bathroom and toilet and they are also fully air-conditioned. The best thing I have to say about the rooms is the free Wifi that comes with them. Once you pay for a room at Hotel Influential, Ibadan you get access to free Wifi. Which is really nice. I was also able to hire a car from the available cars on the stand to go around Ibadan during my stay at very affordable rates.

The restaurant is very nice and clean and the food served is very delicious. You can buy continental dishes as well as local dishes. I think, I started loving ewedu soup because of Hotel Influential. You can also buy snacks at the hotel restaurant. While I was there I saw a lot of young people come by to buy sharwarma, so I tried it and I have to say it was very delicious.

I completely enjoyed my three-day stay this time around and I am sure that when next I would be visiting Ibadan, there is no other place I would rather stay than Hotel Influential.
