5 Daring Destinations In Nigeria

There are tourist destinations in Nigeria that just dare you to be adventurous because they look unconquerable.  Places like the National Theatre, are easy, but what about hills full of surprises with every step or even lakes that leave room for lots of aquatic activities. We will leave you with these locations and hope you are daring enough to enjoy everything that comes with them.

* Lake Chad*

Lake Chad may be scary to a lot of people now since Boko Haram started its insurgence in the North. However, this lake is strategically located. It can be visited from Cameroon or Niger.  You would find a lot of fishing villages, and there are boating activities for you to engage yourself in. Located in Borno state, it is one of the most unconquerable tourist locations in the country.

Silicon Hill

Silicon Hill is 300 metres above sea level and stretches about half a kilometer. This hill is made of silica – a raw material that is used to manufacture glass.  When you come here, the hill has a natural splendor that will take your breath away before you get to relax.  It is located in Nkpologu, Enugu State. It is a good place for sightseeing, and as little as it is, can you conquer it?

Okomu Wildlife Sanctuary

Come to Benin and see if you can win the Okomu Wildlife Sanctuary. Here, you can see chimpanzees, the mona monkey, duikers, porcupines, elephants, the putty nosed quenon, bush baby, the white throated monkey and others. This is the second largest forest reserve in the country. There are lots of animals, and it is a lot experiencing them all in their natural habitat. This is the reason you should try to come here. It will take a long time to experience everything here, so you will need an ample amount of time.

Slave Trade Relics, Badagry

Besides the Long Juju Route in Arochukwu, the only other prominent slave relic left behind in Nigeria is the Slave Trade Relics in Badagry. The locks and shackles that are preserved by the Mobee family to ensure everyone who comes here has an idea of what it was like for the slaves then.

The Agia Tree in the Ancient Town of Badagry

This is another tourist site in Badagry you would love visit. It was under the Agia tree at a market street the missionaries first preached about Christianity in Nigeria. The tree has fallen now, however, this spot has become a tourist mecca for a lot of people. The first storey building in the country built by Rev Henry Townsend in 1845 is in Marina Badagry as well.
