Where To Find Cheap Good Food In Lagos Island

The Lagos Island has become almost synonymous with outrageous food costs in the minds of many people, but if you know where to look, you can find good food that wouldn’t hurt your pocket at all. There are great food spots to find food for as low as N400 – you may be able to patronize these places if the hotel food is a bit above your budget.

1.Ghana High Restaurant

The Ghana High Restaurant is so named because of its proximity to the Ghana High Commission. The food here is affordable and the general surrounding is spick and span. You get the food cost of a road-side restaurant and the service of something way higher on the class scale.

Food here is served according to the amount you wish to consume – so it is tailored specifically to your stomach and financial needs. N1000 spent here should keep your tummy full for the entire day.

2.Bukka Hut

Bukka hut is considered a restaurant for the Island. There are three Bukka Huts on the island and they operate similarly to Ghana High – with the customized food portions and the cheap food. They also do deliveries too – which may come up to about N1,000.

3.Ebeano Supermarket

I promise you they sell the best Ofada rice and Moi-moi on the planet . This is quite unusual you might think,but this is done in the Lekki branch local food section. They sell stuff you’ll find in a basic local food market. Let us call it a sophisticated local market. You have to be early though to be able to get their moi moi and ofada goodness. The moi moi is from a price of 120 naira to 150. Then the packs of Ofada rice,and palm oil stew are sold together for about 500 naira. This is a pretty decent great meal,for less than 500 naira. They also have these big packs of popcorn they sell at a shawarma stand just outside.

4.The Place

They sort of follow the same system as Bukka Hut and Ghana High except their well known in Lekki for Asun and grilled chicken, night club and Sunday night live band. There is also a hotel in the same location .

Its a pretty chilled place,to hang out on a Saturday night and eat good food and spend little money.
