Fascinating Places to See in Ebonyi

Some Nigerians are not aware that Ebonyi State has some of the finest tourist site of attractions in the country. There are so many fascinating places that they may be a surprise to find in this state. Things are relatively cheap in this state and tourism is still a growing sector here. You can take advantage of the relatively inexpensive cost of living in the State and see some of these places we have listed below.

Amanchor Cave

You may have heard about Afikpo, but visiting Amanchor Cave makes for a much richer experience. This is a four kilometers long cave that has some adventurous inlets for visitors. Although it is not yet fully developed as an official tourist site by the state government, it is still a great place for you to visit.

* Ogbodu Conical Mound*

The Ogbodu Conical Mound is another fascinating place to see in Ebonyi State. It is located in at Ngbo in Ohaukwu town. This was a pre-colonial defense and military observation post. A visit to this site will make for an interesting trip.

The Golden Sand Beaches

When you are at Ozizza, Ndibe and Uwana, you will see these beaches which are turning out into a tourist hot spot. You can have your group picnic here, dance and walk around the fine sands which stretch long enough to accommodate a huge number of people. The scenery is beautiful and you can take breathtaking pictures here.

Mkpuma Ekwa Oku Rocks

You see these rocks like egg shapes. You will find them at the Ndieze Community that is located in Izzi Local Government Area of the state. You can go hiking out here or go out as a group to picnic here.

Slave Market/Route

Arochukwu in Abia State has a similar type of route that most of us know as the Juju Slave Route. There is another route and also slave market at Ezza. Quite a huge number of slaves who were taken off the shores of Africa made their exodus through this route.  The Slave Market/ Route in Ebonyi State is one of the relics that slave trade left in Nigeria.
