Cool Tourist Spots in Nigeria

We know that you may have visited some of the finest tourist spots in Nigeria or even the most popular places we can name here. We would want to know if you have stepped your feet in any of the following five cool tourist spots in the country.

Kainji Lake National Park

You can visit Kainji Lake National Park from different parts of the country. It is situated between the Borgu-Zugurma sectors of Kwara State. There is diverse wildlife here such as the hippotamus, kobs, antelopes and lions to name a few. There are cultural and ethno-historical sites too. This is not the Kainji lake oil hydroelectric complex but it is closely linked with it. You do not need to worry about seeing only huge electric poles and installations here. There is life here aside electricity.

Jos Zoo

Kids would love you to bring them here where they can see several wildlife creatures including lions. This is one place you can find crowd of visitors especially during the festive periods. The museum is very close to the Jos Museum and the Museum of Traditional Nigerian Architecture. Aside the zoo, you can fund the Jos Wildlife park where you can have a lovely picnic. This is where you would find a lot of animals and birds.

Kamuku National Park

You think that you want that selfie that is stunning, then visit the Kamuku National Park in Birnin Gwari. The marshy areas with its rich dense canopy bring photographers always to it. If you are crazy about wildlife, birds and a keen eye in taking ‘once upon a time’ pictures, this is where it can all happen. If you have not visited the Masari Mara National Reserve Park in Kenya, this park may be the best place to take your pictures. It is quiet and has a lot of scenarios that would captivate your creativity.

Afi Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary

Afi Mountain houses endangered species like the Cross River gorillas and chimpanzees. Do not expect to poach here because it is a reserve area. No hunting but it is simply one place to move around and even watch birds. Friends can come here and spend the whole day trying to see a lot of these wildlife species.

Okomu National Park

This is a rainforest that has become the favourite location for picnics. When you are at Okomu National Park, there is opportunity to watch more than 150 varieties of birds with your friends. You can find the forest elephants and the White throated monkeys here. At the end of the day, you have an air conditioned apartment to relax with your friends over a bottle of wine.
