All The Meals You MUST Try Out At The Calabar Carnival

Finally, you made it to the Calabar Carnival! It doesn’t take time for hunger to set in after you must have absorbed everything happening around you in a hurry.  If it’s your first time or you aren’t a foodie, you may be overwhelmed with decisions. You shouldn’t miss out on some delicacies in Calabar. We have listed some delicious meals you must eat when you come around.
Edikang-Ikong
The smell of this soup would make you drool. Edikang-Ikong is one of the most delicious soups in Nigeria. There is hardly a good eatery that wouldn’t serve this meal. You can eat it with fufu, semo or eba. The first swallow would have you licking fingers if you aren’t cautious of where you are.
Ekpang Nkukwo
This is a food even the gods may not resist. It is a pottage dish made with cocoyam and water yam wrapped perfectly in leaves. A lot of people who tasted this food before leaving the country demand the food when they get back to the country. The taste is quite different from whatever you must have tasted in your life.

Afia Efere soup
Some call it the white soup or Ofe Nsala – the only difference is the name. When you are here for the Calabar Carnival, don’t get carried away by the name Afia Efere soup, because it’s all the same thing prepared a little differently.
Editan soup
When you taste this soup for the first time, you would love it especially if snails are used to cook it. Calabar is prepared to give you meals you would really enjoy. There is no room to walk out of an eatery in anger because the meal served wasn’t delicious. Ask for editan soup and have the most sumptuous meal of your lifetime.
Roasted plantain and bush meat
Calabar Carnival is not complete if you don’t go for a plate of roasted plantain and bush meat. If you are strong enough for palm wine, you can use it to wash down the meal. This is one of the favourite meals you would enjoy when you are around.
Afang Soup
If we do not mention Afang soup, it would be blasphemy because it is a Nigerian favourite. Taste the soup again but this time it would surely taste different because the owners of the soup are the ones who are preparing it for you.
