Breathtaking Tourist Destinations You Can Visit On Vacation In Nigeria

Have you visited Chief Nana’s Palace? This is one of the places you would love to visit if you have been away from the country for a while. Sometimes, you are faced with a seemingly difficult decision of finding the best places to visit in Nigeria instead of abroad. If you don’t living in the country and want to have a great time here, we have listed some breathtaking places for you to explore. You may want to forget about mega cities like Abuja or Port Harcourt if you must experience this. For those of us who live in the country, take out some time to visit these places

Ososo Tourist Centre

Situated on the boundary between Edo state and Kogi state, first on our list is the Ososo Tourists Centre. There is a rest house at the top of the Ososo hill. When you get to the top of the hill, you can see some parts of Kogi state including the River Niger. Tourists come here for the view and the temperate climate.

Abraka-Gordon River Resort

Abraka-Gordon River Resort, Abraka is a perfect spot for picnicking. It is located in Abraka, Delta State – far away from the activities of the city. You can take a boat ride, swim, or fish at the resort. Hiking is allowed, and you can walk along the sand beach. There’s also the Ethiope River that flows slowly and  rhythmically. Kids would love it  here and want to spend time.

Chief Nana’s Palace, Koko

This palace is a National Monument. Chief Nana was an indigenous business tycoon famous in the 19th century. He built this palace that remains beautiful with relics of the past.

Nike Art Gallery

Nike Art Gallery is a unique art house. If you are a fan of art, this is where you should be. You can explore various forms of art expression like indigo dyeing, Batik, Adire making, embroidery, quitting, reverse appliqué, stone works, traditional loom weaving, beadwork, brass and copper, rice paper works, drumming, painting, dancing, and singing here.

The Iron of Liberty

Once a slave trade center, the Iron of liberty is in Lokoja. It became a famous commercial centre during the arrival of the European missionaries and merchants. Lokoja was the temporary lodging for the slaves who were rescued and later set free.
