The Southwest has always been a focal point when it comes to some of the major tourist spots in Nigeria. This region is the home to Lagos, Ekiti, Ondo, Osun, Ondo and Oyo States; six states that have some of the finest spots for tourist attractions. We would want you to see 7 tourist destinations that have made this region famous.

Lagos Bar Beach

The Atlantic Ocean came to Lagos and created a bar beach at one of the luxurious parts of the country, Victoria Island. The view is stunning and Lagosians cannot get enough of this water-world. Most Nigerians may not know other beaches in the country but not Lagos Bar Beach. There are no coconut trees or plants here but sands that stretches out for you to sunbath.

* Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls*

Some people called Erin-Ijesha Waterfalls as Olumirin waterfalls. It is situated in Ipetu-Ijesha in Osun State but not far from Ife and Akure. You would find mat-weaving market around here. People come from afar to see

Oranmiyan Staff

Oranmiyan Staff is seen in Ile-Ife, Osun State. This staff is an ancient commemorative upright stone slab with different markings that tells us a lot of stories. Myth has it that the Oranmiyan Staff has been erected by an ancient ruler, from the descendants of Oranmiyan Omoluabi, and an heir to Oduduwa.

Ikogosi Warm Springs

Ekiti State has this Ikogosi Warm Springs that allows both the warm and cold spring to meet at a point. It is one of the most fascinating places to visit in Nigeria.

Old Oyo National Park

There is the Oyo National Park that is a dense forest park that is rich in plants and animals activities. You would find rare animals like the Roan antelope,Kobs, Bush buck, baboon, daiker among others.

* Olumo Rock*

Kids know about this place because it is often referred to them during their history classes. This was one the fortress of the Egba people which has become a tourist attraction spot in the country.

* Idanre Hills*

You would find an ancient tree that is called the Iraye Tree. The hill is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its Owa’s Palaces, Belfry, Old Court, Shrines, thunder water (Omi Aopara), Agboogun footprint, and burial mounds.
