Oxbow Lake

In the capital of Bayelsa State, Yenegoa is the Oxford Lake. This is the waterfront where you would catch a glimpse of the coastal view of this city. There are facilities that would make you feel just at home. This lake has selling points where the locals sell local cuisines with the BBQ grills. Oxbow Lake is a natural mien where pleasure is blended with beauty for pleasure-seekers and tourists. There is a galleria of cinemas and arts and a five star hotel here.

Akassa Lighthouse

It was in 1910 that Akassa Lighthouse was built before it was relocated in 1912 to its present location- a seaside that is about 60 meters tall in Akassa. It is one of West Africa’s tallest lighthouses. It is an architectural piece that has iron staircase that would lead up to the lighthouse.

Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro Monument

Isaac Jasper Boro was a prominent man who rose to become a hero for the South-South people. There is a park for him in Port Harcourt but his monument is seen in his hometown, Kaiama in Bayelsa State. He was a campaigner for environment responsibility and social justice. He was the man who took with him 160 men to fight the federal government in 1966.

Peace Park

This park is strategically located in the centre of the city. The government house is close by and you are not going to miss the excitement of the city. There is a body of water here accompanied by an amusement park that would thrill you. What is it that you want with a tourist site like this? Akassa Slave Transit Camp and Tunnel

Akassa Slave Transit Camp and Tunnel is located in Ogbokiri. It was once used as a slave camp, where slaves meet before they were taken to Caribbean and America. The camp is made of bricks and solid iron and restraining chains are everywhere that was used on the slaves.
