#HauntedHotel Entry Six - "Not All Monsters Are Fake"

He had barely entered the room when he saw it. It had been the first opportunity he had to look, and not looking sooner was a terrible mistake. Perhaps if he had looked earlier, he would have seen it in the shadows, baring its teeth menacingly at him, thick slimy slob dripping from its jaws.
He was terrified when it suddenly appeared in front of him, his heart stopped and his legs seemed paralyzed, and just as it towered over him ready to devour, he suddenly remembered; run. He ran down the staircase, trying to escape from demise so cruel. He got to the door, and found it locked; a note on the door read “YOU PAID FOR A ROOM, NOW YOU HAVE TO STAY IN A ROOMâ€. He banged at the door, trying to break through; it approached slowly, a predator yearning for a taste of its prey. He backed away from the door, and as he suddenly spun around to run, it pounced, crashing into the wall, missing him only by a hair’s breadth.
He got to a room and slammed the door behind him, panting, exhausted from running, but his temporary relief quickly vanished when he heard a growl from within the room and looked up to see it staring right at him. He felt his leg try to give way from fear, but somehow he was able to stand. He struggled with the door for a couple of seconds, and was barely able to exit the room alive.
Now he lay hidden, trying not to breathe too loud. He heard it moving from room to room, searching patiently for him. It destroyed everything in its path, and it was coming for him, coming to take out his limbs and feast on his body. Then he remembered, he remembered a friend giving it to him. “Use it if you run into troubleâ€, she had said.
He ran up the stairs, going for the one thing that could save his life, the monster suddenly sensing his movement returned to its chase. He ran to his room to find it. “It’s in the bagâ€, he said to himself. “It has to be†He searched the bag as fast as he could, ransacking through his things with no time to spare. His life depended on him finding it, then he saw it; a tiny black device in the corner of his bag. The monster approached, this time sure of its victory, it stretched its jaws wide ready to consume, and just as his end became almost inevitable, he turned it on.
He sighed in relief as the horrible monster vanished, and he saw the EDGE turn into Spectranet 4GLTE with full bars. “Whew, that almost killed me, an entire night with bad internet!!â€
