- Class B ? Professional foreign talent.
- Class C ? Miscellaneous foreigners.
Class A - Elite Foreign Talent
The Class A system comprises of 16 percent of foreign workers in China. The Chinese government find them desirable and they enjoy benefits not given to Class B and Class C foreign workers. Their application will get approved quicker, so processing times are around five working days.
Class B - Professional Foreign Talent
The Class B system comprises of 61 percent of foreign workers in China. Compared to Class A, they often find it more difficult to obtain a work permit in industries already filled with foreign workers.
Class C- Miscellaneous Foreigners
The Class C system comprises of 22 percent of expats. This is the category company representatives placed abroad for a few months usually fall in, as well as those entering China under Chinese government young talent initiatives.
