About Nasarawa State University
The Nasarawa State University, Keffi popularly called NSUK was founded under the Nasarawa State law No. 2 of 2001 passed by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly under the then administration of the State Governor (Dr.) Abdullahi Adamu, the first democratically elected Governor of the State. However, the University fully started activities in February 2002 at the site of the former College of Arts, Science, and Technology (CAST). The University was established to help provide the indigenes of Nasarawa State an avenue to pursue tertiary education which would be needed in the long run in the development of the state.
NSUK is a young University located in the middle belt region of the Country and has since its inception recorded groundbreaking achievements as a result of determination and diligence in administration. With a vision “to be a World Class Centre of Excellence for the development of the individual and the society”, and a mission “to encourage and enable individuals to develop their full potentials by providing qualitative and stimulating learning environment encompassing a wide range of relevant educational activities for efficient, dedicated and selfless service to the state”, the University has risen through the ranks to provide undergraduate and postgraduate education, research and service.
The Nasarawa State University consists of three (3) major campuses; the Main Campus located along Akwanga-Keffi Road, Keffi which is the seat of administration in the University; the Lafia Campus which houses only the Faculty of Agriculture and the Pyanku Campus which houses the School of Remedial Studies and Centre for Continuing Studies, offering about four (4) major course combinations.
NSUK currently ranks as the 40th best University in the Country, and 7,279 in the world according to the 4IC.org ranking. Some of the courses offered at the University are accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Admission Requirements Into Nasarawa State University
For Entry-level Undergraduates:
Entry level admission requirements into NSUK is relatively the same with other institutions as regards to the general requirement of obtaining a minimum of 5 O’ level Credits or other equivalents in Mathematics, English and three other subjects. At no more than two sittings and also obtaining the prescribed JAMB cut-off and Post UTME score for each department. As a prospective student of the institution, during the internal screening organized by the University, you’ll be required to present and submit two photocopies of your certificate or result slips, birth certificate, certificate of the state of origin, declaration of age, and passport photographs. NSUK doesn’t accept the statement of result from secondary schools attended.
NSUK JAMB Cut-off mark for the 2017/2018 academic session is 170, you are eligible for an internal screening if you attain the prescribed cut-off mark, but you have a higher chance of gaining admission if you have a higher score in JAMB.

For Entry Level Postgraduates:
NSUK offers recognized postgraduate degrees such as Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and Doctorate degree programmes in almost all the departments in each faculty. As a prospective candidate, you should note that admission requirement is mostly based on departmental requirements in related disciplines.
The general admission requirement still includes having a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of a Second Class Lower Division for Postgraduate Diploma and Masters; while for a Doctorate degree you are required to have an MSc. degree with a minimum weighted average score of 50%.

Facilities At The Nasarawa State University
NSUK as a State University has no doubt tried in terms of providing standard facilities and resources for its staff and students. The University as stated early has developed three campuses which house various faculties and administrative buildings. NSUK also provides a health care support center, an information technology center, a library for study and extensive research, a security unit, works, and maintenance unit.
