About Kaduna State University
Kaduna State University also called ‘KASU’ is a state-owned and governed higher institution established by the State Government in 2004 out of the need to increase the presence of higher institutions in the region. The University boasts of having two campuses, one in Kaduna town, and the other in Kafanchan. Currently, there are seven (7) faculties in the school offering over 39 academic programmes. In addition, KASU has a College of Basic Studies that runs Remedial programmes on both campuses, it is also home to a Postgraduate school and a College of Health Sciences.

The University also offers accredited programmes in the faculties of Agriculture, Pharmacy and the College of Medicine.
In addition to all the faculties listed above, it’s important to know as well that the University has a postgraduate (PG) school which admits students for postgraduate diploma, and masters degree, and offers departmental courses in the faculties of Art, Science, and Social and Management Science.
Kaduna State University Admission Requirements
Although there are specific admission requirements based on faculties or prefered course. There are still some general requirements set by the institution for prospective applicants in various levels. We’ve compiled useful details about the general admission requirements. Find them below:
KASU Admission Requirements For Undergraduates
100 Level Entry Students:
Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE O’LEVEL/NECO/NABTEB or equivalents at no more than two (2) sittings obtained in subjects relevant to the proposed field of study. The 5 credits must compulsorily be in English Language and 4 other related subjects.
In addition, candidates must register, sit for and attain the prescribed cut-off mark (usually 180/200) in UTME, and also prepare for a screening process organized by the school.
200 Level (Direct-entry) Students:
The University has no provision for direct entry students for now.
KASU Admission Requirements For Postgraduates (PG)
Kaduna State University has available postgraduate programmes in just 3 faculties. The types of PG programmes available include, Postgraduate Diplomas and Masters degree. Although admission requirements differ across these levels, here a few general requirements for prospective applicants.
Bachelor’s degree/ HND certificate with a minimum of Second Class Honours from the University, or one recognized by the University’s Senate.
Masters degree certificate for candidates proposing to pursue M.Phil or PhD.
NYSC Discharge/Exemption certificate.
Marriage certificate or evidence of a change of name (if applicable).
Any other certificate or document(s) relevant to the mode of application.
Academic transcript(s) and reference letters from previous University lecturers.
It’s also important to note that the College or department, may also require additional conditions such as oral interview, or entrance examination.

The University boasts of other well-structured facilities and service centres, such as an admirable library for research and study which contains over 17,000 volumes of books, hostel accommodation for students, staff quarters, a medical centre (sick bay), recreational and sporting facilities, guest houses, cafeteria's, science laboratories, a fire service, faculty buildings, lecture halls and theatres, a student transport system, and lots more.

Kaduna State University School Fees
Before thinking of having an academic career at the University, it's important that you know what you are required to pay. To help with this, we’ve compiled school fees schedule for non-indigenes and indigenes.
Usually, school fees for indigenes of Kaduna State pay cheaper than non-indigenes. Hence, indigenes of the state pay between the range of N20,000 - N26,000 while non-indigenes pay between the range of N30,000 - N36,000. Please note that this is excluding other fees and charges like acceptance fee, accommodation, utilities, e.t.c.
