About Akwa Ibom State University
It is a State-owned and governed higher institution of learning, practising a multi-campus system with its main campus at Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin LGA, and a second campus situated at Obio Akpa, Oruk Anam LGA. The University was originally established as a University of Technology, but the State Government after proper deliberations modified it into a conventional University whose focus is not just Technology and Applied science, but Arts as well. The Law leading to the establishment of the University was passed in 2009, but it didn't open its doors to its first set of students until 2010. Akwa Ibom State University, also called AKSU has about six (6) faculties spread across its campuses, offering accredited departmental courses in relevant fields.

Akwa Ibom State University Admission Requirements

AKSU Admission Requirements For Undergraduates
100 Level Entry Students:
Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE O’LEVEL/NECO/NABTEB or equivalents at no more than two (2) sittings obtained in subjects relevant to the proposed field of study. The 5 credits must compulsorily be in Mathematics, English and 3 other related subjects.
In addition, candidates must register, sit for and attain the prescribed cut-off mark (usually 180/200) in UTME, and also prepare for a screening process organized by the school.
200 Level (Direct-entry) Students:
Prospective students must have a National Diploma, which should come from a recognized institution in Nigeria.
Candidates are required to have a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) in a subject(s) related to the proposed field of study with a minimum of one unit and two (2) advanced level passes.
Applicants must also register with JAMB for Direct-entry registration.
