Coming to Nigeria is always a different experience for people from different parts of the world. It would leave always leave them wondering, stunned and amused with the way things are conducted here. From the airport, you would begin your tourism because of how the Nigerian airports are operated. There are a lot of people just like in every other airport in the world but this time, you are a little careful even though it may not be necessary. Hustlers are seen everywhere who are trying to make money from one thing or the other that you may eventually need. How do you cope when you come to Nigeria?
Learn to greet people when necessary
Nigerians especially the elderly people love respect and greetings especially those from the west. We are not saying that you should greet everyone that would expose you to some troublemakers. You may walk into a shop or want to inquire about a thing, greeting should be the first thing that you should do. This can open the person up for you to make your request. Everyone understands greetings in English language which would make things easier for you.
Dress Modestly
Those who dress offensively may not be regarded as well mannered. Sometimes, you can become the attention and God help you if the jobless women do not pick on you. We are not saying that you should overdress, that is a wrong impression but dress modestly to allow you stay away from trouble.
Do Not Eat Everything
Almost everything you may see edible can be tasty but that does not mean that the exotic, lovely or spicy foods are safe for you. Food poisoning and stomach upset are some of the end products of bad meals. It is best that you mind what you want to eat and do not make a fuss over things that are offered to you. If you are not sure you want such meal, politely decline.
Few Phrases in the Native Language
When you are in any part of the country, try and learn a few phrases in the native language that may open the door of opportunity for you. Greetings in the local dialect even if you are a foreigner can help you make friends too. Just a few of these phrases to avoid murdering the language.

It is not every vehicle that you should board in the country. The bus stops can be where to enter cabs or buses with others. You should still be careful of the ones that you may enter to avoid entering into the hands of kidnappers.
