This was established in 1896For the purpose of ensuring an easy link between the Northern and Southern parts of the country.

Built by the british colonial government in 1896.

Zungeru was a former capital of today’s Northern Nigeria, this railway station is one of the oldest in the country. One time a distinguishing structure of the state, however, it has been allowed to go moribund. The most frequent travel from this station is to Minna and Kaduna.
