ABOUT
Founded in 1904, the Lagos Polo Club is the first polo club to be established in the history of Nigeria. It was created by a team of British Naval Officers who loved the sport of horse riding and horse racing. The premier private sporting club has a rich history as it was created before the liberation of Nigeria from the British Colonial rule. With its yearly tournaments, standard horse riding academy, and affiliations with international organizations, the club has grown to become the best and famous polo clubs in Nigeria.
Lagos Polo Club is not restricted to adults as teenagers and young adults can register and partake in training and events held at the club. Also, these young persons are allowed to participate in racing competitions held annually.
Every year, the Lagos Polo Club holds one main tournament and several mini tournament. The main tournament is the Lagos International Polo Tournament held around February and March for a two-week period. It is the largest Polo tournament in Africa as it attracts large number of polo players and lovers from several countries. Also, professional polo players all the way from Argentina come to participate in the tournament. The mini tournaments hosted by the Lagos Polo Club include the following:

SERVICES
Polo
In the Polo playing season, interested members of the club participate in the horse-racing sport. Potential players are expected to book Chukkas on Club Chukkas days - Saturdays and Sundays to be eligible to play. Members must wear the customized Club shirt and white britches.
Riding Academy
In 2019, the Lagos Polo club opened the Lagos Polo Club Riding Academy to train horse-riding lovers or polo beginners. The riding academy aims at equipping registered persons with basic horse riding/racing skills. Teenagers, young adults, and adults are eligible for registration. Also, children from 5 years and above can participate in the training.Social Activities
