It was the early 1980's and Abuja had recently been made the capital city. Officers were making constant trips to Lagos to play golf. In a bid to stop these short trips, the idea of a standard golf course where officers could enjoy their game was birthed and thus it came to be that the Ibrahim Babaginda golf course was formed. Since then, it has grown to be a prestigious tourist and recreational center in the capital city.
