Federal Government Girls College, Omu-Aran, was one of the Nineteen new schools established to respond to the Federal Government's policy on the number of unity schools in each of the States of the country following a recent State creation exercise.
She was found on on the ground of the former State Government Secondary School, Omu-Aran, along Ilorin - Lokoja Trunk A road with the initial population of 116 students.
The pioneer members of the teaching staff are 18 in number with Hajia J. F. Gold as the founding Principal.
