Christ The King College, Onitsha was established in 1933, Built by Archbishop Charles Heerey in 1933.
A Christian school fondly called "Amaka Boys", it is an academic institution dedicated to intellectual and personal growth of male youths within the context of well-rounded liberal arts education in a catholic environment.

Reason For Loving Place

With a chief mission to develop indigenous manpower and leadership skills from the vast pool of Nigerian youths and in a Roman Catholic tradition and environment, it was ranked the the best high school in Nigeria and 36th in the top 100 best high schools in Africa as of February 2014\. During the Nigerian Civil War, the school was affected as it was taken over by the East Central State Government and renamed "Heerey High School". The population ratio was also greatly affected from its 600 students to over 4,000 students. After restoration of order in the country, it was renamed Christ the King College and the population was reduced to about 2,000.

It is a school among schools, having proven its worth with its prominent and enviable alumni. A boarding school facility, their school colors are White and Royal Blue. To enroll, one needs to pick up the application form from the school for a fee of five hundred naira, after passing the common entrance examination.
