History of Barewa College, Zaria
Barewa College, Zaria was established in 1921.
Built by British Governor General Hugh Clifford in 1921.
Known for the large number of elites that passed through the school's academic buildings, among which are five one-time Nigerian Heads of State, this is an all-boys secondary school and one of the oldest schools in Nigeria.

Best Features
Originally called Katsina Training College, established as the first post-primary institution of the former Northern Region of Nigeria, it later became Katsina Higher College, then it became Kaduna College when the school was moved to Kaduna. It was later moved to Zaria, and was called Zaria Secondary School and then Government College, Zaria before finally named Barewa College Zaria which it has retained since 1971.
Writer's Review
It has produced 5 Heads of State, over 20 governors and ministers, and a good number of prominent names in Nigeria. As can be gleaned from its alumni list, the school is worth this esteemed status and continues to provide the best of education.
