Imo State Polytechnic is a higher education institute in Umuagwo, Imo State, Nigeria. Imo State Polytechnic was established by the state goverment and it curently has five falculties whichh are: School of Agriculture, School of Business, School of Engineering, School of Environmental and School of Sciences. It also offers part time programs.

History of Imo State Polytechnic

Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo, Ohaji was established in 1978 by Imo state goverment as "Imo State of Agriculture". In the year 2005, it was changed again to Michael Okpara College of Agriculture and Technology (MOCATECH) Umuagwo. The institution was finally upgraded to a polytechnic status (Imo State Polytechnic) in 2007 following the signing into law of a bill passed by the Imo State House of Assembly by His Excellency, Executive Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim.
