Federal College of Land Resources Technology, Owerri previously known as Federal Soil Conservation College Owerri was established by the .Federal Government of Nigeria. This change of name was effected on the 21st of March, 2000. The school currently has five faculties: School of Agronomy and Extension Services, School of Enviromental Sciences, School of Natural Science, School of General Studies, and School of Agricultural Engineering Technology. FECOLART also ofers part time and weekend programs.

History of Federal College of Land Resources Technology, Owerri

Federal College of Land Resources Technology, Owerri (FECOLART) was approved by the Federal Government in the 1981. It was created to supplement an already existing sister college at Kuru, Plateau State.The College and its counterpart in Jos are directly under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development making them the only two of such higher institutions in the whole of Nigeria. By this development the school is the only Federal College of Land Resources Technology in the entire South of Nigeria.
