Shaka Polytechnic located at Shaka Momodu Way, Ogiso Quarters Benin City, Nigeria, was established on the 6th February 1986 as the Nigerian Institute of Computer Science. It currently has eight departments which are : Department of Accountancy, Department of Mass Communication, Department of Computer Sciences, Department of Public Adminstration, Department of Electrical Electronics, Department of Statistics, and Department of Computer Engineering.

History of Shaka Polytechnic

Shaka Polytechnic in Benin City, Nigeria, was founded by Late Sir, (Dr) Prince Donaldson Shaka Momodu(KSP).It was established on the 6th February 1986 as the Nigerian Institute of Computer Science before it now became Shaka Polytechnic.The first campus is located at 1 prince shaka momodu street, ogiso quarters, Off Muritala Muhammed Way,Benin City,while the main campus is located at Evbo-Ewedo Dukedom,Along Egba Road, Off Benin-Auchi Road,Edo State. In 2012, following series of assesment by the national board on technical education (NBTE) Kaduna, Shaka polytechnics was granted accreditation and certification.
