Federal College of Forestry, Jos was established in 1958.

Built by the then Northern Nigeria Regional Government in 1958.

Formerly known as Northern Nigeria School of Forestry Jos, this is a multi-disciplinary tertiary institution created to give training on agricultural wood, forest, environmental services and forest related organizations in the country.

Under the supervision of Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN), this is one of the few institution/ research centre in Nigeria that has maintained a tranquil and unique landscape over the years, undoubtedly, the wholesome of the serene environs and the cold regional climate of the state has been one of the major attractions of the school and study.
