About University of Jos The University of Jos, also regarded as ‘Unijos’ started off as a campus of the University of Ibadan in November 1971 and was situated in what is today known as the ‘Township Campus’ of the institution located along Murtala Muhammed way, Jos. The University also has another campus called the ‘Bauchi Road Campus’ which accommodated the faculties of Natural, Management and Medical Sciences upon its acquisition in 1973. Officially established as a Federal Government-University by the Federal Government in 1975, Unijos has since moved to become an innovative institution that carries a high responsibility of fashioning tastes and attitude for the future. Starting off with just 575 students spread all over the existing faculties in 1976, University of Jos has grown to possess an enrollment of range of 15,000 - 19,999 students across its two campuses offering diverse courses in various faculties. University of Jos Admission Requirements If you wish to study in Unijos, you have to be conversant with the programmes offered in each faculty in order to choose correctly your preferred course. Asides this, here are some general requirements: You are required to have at least 5 credit passes in your O’level result or its equivalent at no more than two sittings. The subjects passed should include English Language, Mathematics, and any other three, based on the subject combination for your desired course of study. You must register for JAMB, sit for the examination, and attain the prescribed JAMB cut-off mark for your course. This would make you eligible to; Sit for the Post-UTME examination organized by the institution. Bear in mind that you must attain the exact Post-UTME cut-off mark or preferably score higher so as to increase your chances of getting admitted. If successful, your name will come out on the admission list released and you’ll be informed of subsequent steps to take.
