About Sarius Palmetum

Sarius Palmetum is the biggest botanical garden in Abuja with a variety of plants and flowers that make for exciting viewing. The variety of plants on show make the garden very colourful and attractive.The 21 hectare resort is owned by wife of former head of state Mrs Murtala Muhammed. Mrs Muhammed's love for plants led her bringing a variety of specie of plants from her travels to countries like Hawaii, Singapore and Mauritius. Sarius Palmetum has a very interesting piece of land which has green hills, various rock formations and a river that runs through the length of the garden. In addition, there are monkeys in the garden but they only reveal themselves in the evening when there is minimal human activities.


There is no apparent threat to security here.

Weather at Sarius Palmetum

Sarius Palmetum is located in Abuja North-Central of Nigeria.Thus, it experiences three weather conditions annually. This includes a warm, humid rainy season and a blistering dry season. In between the two, there is a brief interlude of harmattan occasioned by the northeast trade wind, with the main feature of dust haze and dryness. Temperatures can drop to as low as 16 degrees during the harmattan period.
