Four Man Gang Nabbed With Explosives in Ogun

AYEPE, OGUN – Gelebele Aitlabor, Moses Demene, Mohammed Kaidiri and Friday Saborom are all members of the gang that was apprehended by the Police in Ayepe town in Ogun State after a bag containing explosive devices and cables was found on them. While showcasing the suspects at the Eleweran Police Headquarter, Abeokuta on Thursday, the Police stated that the suspects migrated from Delta State to Ogun State with the intent to meet up with their leader of operations.

The Commissioner of Police, Celestine Okoye revealed that the suspects were apprehended after the police patrol team in Ayepe town got a tip off that there were some people spotted carrying some strange bags. The Patrol team acted swiftly on that information and nabbed the suspects soon afterwards.

“On searching the bags, four explosive devices with three connection wires were recovered from them. The suspects confessed that they were coming from Delta State to meet their gang leader named Wisdom in Ogun State, who is now at large” he said. He also pointed out that the suspects, after further interrogation, admitted to coming into Ogun State with the intent to execute a robbery operation.

In a related development, there were ten other suspects paraded as well at the Police Headquarters – suspects who had been apprehended from various parts of the State for several alleged crimes ranging from vandalism, murder, cultism to fraud and armed robbery. Items recovered from the possession of the suspects include mobile phones, iron rods, locally made double-barrel pistol, battle axe, live cartridges, hammer, knives, chisels and a sum of money worth N45, 000. The suspects are set to be duly prosecuted subsequent to their exhibition at the Police Headquarters.
