Writer's Review As tempting and exciting as Mount Patti looks, I will recommend only the strong-hearted and those in peak physical health to attempt climbing it. The journey from the mountain foot to its peak averages five kilometres. Going up the plateau is almost as tasking as descending. From the starting point, you pass through a gate where you pay a token to its keepers. The road up the mountain cuts through a mylina tree plantation from where wooden-electric poles are harvested. Midway up, the vegetation pattern begins to change. After an arduous upward journey, you walk into the embrace of an amazing plain. The air on Mount Patti is refreshingly cool and the spot is dizzying, especially at seeing the vast, greenish landscape down, down below. With its serenity, and its surprising good weather and vegetation, it is a peculiar place as evidenced by the absence of mosquitoes despite the lush and grassy environment. It really is a worthwhile experience that everyone who loves adventures should experience. From the top, the scenic plain surroundings of Lokoja, the hinterland, the silent grandeur and the beautiful nature of the confluence of Rivers Niger and Benue can easily be viewed.
