History of Jaekel Museum Named after the Late Francis Jaekel, a former superintendent of the corporation, who retired after almost thirty years serving the corporation. Built in 1898, Jeakel House was formerly the residence of the General Manager before it became a senior staff rest house. The building which is described by many as a classic colonial architecture has been standing for over 100 years and it was restored in 2010 by professor John Godwin as the Legacy and Railway Museum.
