History of Kalakuta Republic Museum

This was built in 2012to allow us better understand the life and struggle of the Late afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti. It is notable as home to the relics from the life of Fela.

  • Due to the corruption of the then military government, Fela felt he couldn't be part of such and declared the Kalakuta Republic a sovereign state and independent of Nigeria. 

Built by Governor Babatunde Fashola in 2012.
