Gidan Makama Museum was built in 1953to preserve the rich history of Kano. It is notable as the home of past Emir's of Kano.

Built by Lord Lugard in 1953.

The Gidan Makama Museum also known as Kano museum is a time capsule with displays of traditional materials, city walls, maps of Kano, the history of statehood, It exhibits Kano in the 19th century, its Civil War, economy, traditions,industry and music.
